Free Long Distance With VOIP (Broadband connection required)
First you need a VOIP provider. Download their client and create an account. That's pretty much all there is to it. You can also use your created username and password on a different softphone, or buy a device to use your standard telephone with this service. I use an unlocked Linksys PAP2 (see picture). Voipbuster, and the other Betamax clones, will limit your free calls to five minutes lengths and only let you make three hundred minutes worth a week. You can also find a free direct in number (a number people can call you from a plain old telephone line). Hope this saves you a few dollars. Phone service is entirely too expensive.
