Wireless Keyboard Angst
At a previous place of employment we supported about twenty of what we called "smart-rooms". All this meant was that the room was equipped with audio video equipment, a computer, and wireless keyboards/mice. The wireless keyboards and mice that we used in these rooms were all Logitech mid-range models (I don't remember the exact model number). Their performance was just ok. The keyboards were a little "laggy", but as I recall the mice were ok and rechargeable. When I decided to purchase a keyboard and mouse combo for myself, I decided not to use a Logitech. Instead, I bought a Gyration mini combo (GP1100-001). The mouse worked well. In fact, it's still working. The keyboard, sigh… the keyboard… So, if you're in the market for a new wireless keyboard and are thinking that some of the major brands are your best bet- you may want to consider giving Adesso a shot. After I figured out that number lock was on (for some reason it was turned on by default) everything has been perfect with this board and I really like the built in trackball and sturdy feel of the keyboard…plus it makes fun click noises when I type that make me feel important. I must say, I was a little apprehensive about using the built in track-ball, but still had the gyration mouse incase I didn't like it. I LOVE it! The keyboard rocks and works from like twenty feet (not that I'm ever this far away, I tried it from another room).
